Black Corner
1967 5´ x 4´ x 4´ (installed at 12´)
Polyester fiberglass, polyurethane foam, steel and lacquer.
A corner fragment of a structure of indeterminate size, installed suspended on four cables, a pair passing on each side, held in tension floor to ceiling, threaded through and fastened to 1/2" pins extending from the form, is thereby positioned in the air above eye-level, free standing and still. The interior fiberglass skin, radiused at intersections and surfaced with polished black lacquer contrasts with its exterior mass of foamed in place white polyurethane which envelopes steel reinforcements. At the lower edge of the right side break-off a transparent blue strip survives.
